How Hypnotherapy Works
Welcome To It’s Time To Change
I offer a friendly relaxing, stress-free, confidential service where I will happily work with you to create a tailored solution to suit your needs. Understanding how hypnotherapy works gives clients the trust and confidence to work with It’s Time To Change Hypnotherapy.
During the therapy sessions I will use relaxation techniques to allow you to go into a relaxed state of hypnosis where I give positive suggestions of change to your subconscious mind, assisting in bringing about the change you want.
Most people want to change a part of themselves, be it to lose weight, give up smoking, conquer a fear or phobia or to learn to handle stress and anxiety better. What holds most people back is a small voice in the back of there head that tells them they can’t do it.
If you truly believe you can’t do something then your mind will find ways to sabotage you in your efforts to succeed and without help you will find it hard to make the change.
How many people try to lose weight but are convinced when they start that they will not be able to lose weight or keep it off. Imagine how much easier it would be to lose weight if you had the belief in your ability to do it. This is why some people never attempt to change because they don’t believe they can change. If you tell yourself you can’t do something enough then you won’t be able to do it.
This is where hypnotherapy may help and how hypnotherapy works.
A hypnotherapist can’t force you to do anything you don’t want to do. If you truly want to change but are unsure if you can. Then hypnotherapy may be able to help. All a hypnotherapist really needs off a client is the want to make the change and the client to be honest with the details they give us.
A good hypnotherapist will never judge anything you say when you confide in them and will only use the information you give to diagnose any underlying issue and to create the most appropriate treatment plan for you.
The mind can only move so much in a new direction at any one time and everyone is different so during a consultation we can create a plan that will be personalized for how your mind and personality works.
If you have decided that you want a change and that it’s time to change. Then please get in touch.
Even the biggest changes start with the confidence to take the first little step in the right direction.
What happens when you visit a hypnotherapist?
First, we will have a consultation with you to see if we can find the root of the problem you want help with. Here we will dispel all the myths and misconceptions around hypnotherapy so that any anxiety you may have is dealt with before we ever think of having any therapy.
Since everybody is different and responds to different things, we will find out which kind of hypnotherapy script is more suited to your personality. For some people there problem may be anxiety-related.
An example of this would be a smoker who smokes whenever they are anxious. If the hypnotherapist doesn’t work on the anxiety as well as the desire to smoke then the trigger to smoke will still be there.
Another example may be a person wants to lose weight but have tried multiple diets and can’t keep the weight off. They have told themselves that nothing will work and there is nothing they can do.
For this the client needs help with their self-belief or their subconscious mind will keep telling them how this will never work and sabotage their efforts to change. Finding the cause of the problem is key in finding more than a temporary solution to the problem.
Once we know this then we can arrange a personalized therapy plan. The sessions would be weekly to give the subconscious time to process the suggestions and because the mind can only process so much and change so far at any one time. The bigger the change the more sessions may be needed.
The therapist will relax you down into a lovely relaxed trance before giving positive suggestions for change. Once this is done you will be brought back to a fully conscious state.
Most treatments are consultation and then 2-3 therapeutic sessions. Some issues such as eating disorders for example, anorexia can be 10+ sessions.
The number of sessions needed will be discussed at the free no-obligation consultation, as will discussion and agreement on what any sessions could entail. If you have any questions about how hypnotherapy works please get in touch today.
